WCA School of Medical Technology Holds Graduation Ceremony

Jamestown, New York (Friday, July 31, 2009) - Five students from the WCA Hospital School of Medical Technology received their certificates and graduation pins at a special graduation ceremony held at the WCA Auditorium in their honor.
The Class of 2009 Graduates are: Kristine Jones, Meadville, Pennsylvania; Courtney Jose, Jamestown, New York; Jennifer Klecha, Ravenna, Ohio; Jacquelyn Logan, Cherry Creek, New York; and Timothy Morris, Warren, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Brigetta Overcash, W.C.A. Foundation, Inc., Chairman, presented Jennifer Klecha the Murray S. Marsh Outstanding Student Award.
Graduation exercises included remarks from Jon Sundholm, MT (ASCP), BSN, WCA Hospital Clinical Laboratory Manager. The invocation was given by Reverend Donald Ray, Retired WCA Hospital Chaplain. Michele Harms, School of WCA Medical Technology Program Director presented a “Year In Retrospect” – a collection of photos taken during the school year. Janet L. McMillin-Jaszcz, WCA School of Medical Technology Clinical Coordinator recognized the faculty for their dedication to the Class of 2009. Mrs. Brenda Ireland, WCA Hospital Board of Directors 1st Vice Chair, and Janet McMillin-Jaszcz presented the students with certificates and class pins.
Betsy T. Wright, FACHE, WCA Hospital President/CEO, delivered the commencement address. “It is an honor for me to join you this afternoon and share in your commencement exercises,” said Betsy. “Today is the first day of the next phase of your life. For many of you, you have completed your formal education. Your instructors have prepared you to the best of their abilities and I now challenge you to go out and use the knowledge you have gained to make a difference in the lives of others. Continue to learn and excel. Lead by example and never settle for good enough. Maintain your passion for your work and your thirst for knowledge and you will have great success.”
Mrs. Brigetta Overcash, W.C.A. Foundation, Inc., Chair, presented Jennifer Klecha the 2009 Murray S. Marsh Outstanding Student Award. “Jennifer is an excellent example of what the Murray S. Marsh Award stands for,” said Mrs. Overcash. “Jennifer’s drive to achieve a distinguished grade point average along with her personal traits and commitment to her patients and community health are characteristics we look for in great caregivers. It is this combination that has earned her the outstanding student award. She is a fine example of what WCA strives to instill in each person who enters our doors. We extend Jennifer our sincere congratulations!”
At the close of the graduation exercises, graduates and their families and guests were invited to tour the WCA Hospital Clinical Laboratory.
