Jamestown, New York (Tuesday, January 12, 2010)—The WCA Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is accepting applications for its next class to start in August 2010. Applications are due by February 15, 2010, with final selections to be completed in mid-April.

The program includes classroom instruction and clinical hours in the Radiology Department. At the completion of the program, graduates will be committed to a high standard of patient care. Students are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology national certification examination and also become New York State Licensed Radiographers. Opportunities for advancement are excellent following the required two-year education program. The graduate Radiographer can further his or her career through continuing education at Jamestown Community College and the University of Pittsburgh.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, with courses in science and mathematics and 15 college credits in general courses. Three letters of recommendation and academic transcripts are also required along with the completed application.

The hospital-based program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and is recognized by the New York State Department of Health.
