Tim Hortons to Sell Commemorative WCA Hospital Mugs

Jamestown, New York (February 11, 2010)—The Sharing the Gift of Health capital campaign for WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department is getting support from Jamestown-area Tim Hortons franchise owners Victor and Brenda Tarana. On Thursday, the Taranas unveiled commemorative, limited edition, stainless-steel travel mugs now available for sale at Tim Hortons. Five hundred mugs will feature the Tim Hortons logo on one side and WCA Hospital’s 125th anniversary logo on the other.
“We are pleased to support this vital campaign for our community hospital,” explains Victor Tarana. “Brenda and I are personally participating in and supporting this Emergency Department campaign because we believe it is the greatest need in our community. Our $10,000 commitment to the campaign is one small way we can help support our community and WCA Hospital who have generously supported our business over the last eight years.”
To purchase your commemorative Tim Hortons/WCA Hospital travel mug, you can visit any one of the three local Tim Hortons locations (Brooklyn Square in Jamestown, Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood, and E. Second Street in Falconer), or the gift shop located inside WCA Hospital. The stainless-steel mugs are being sold for $8.95, with the net proceeds from each sale going directly to support the construction of the new Emergency Department. Patrons who purchase the commemorative travel mug will receive ten cents off all 16 oz. refills of coffee or hot beverage at any of the Tim Hortons locations.
Featuring twenty-eight private treatment rooms and two private triage rooms, the new 18,000 square foot Emergency Department will maintain and enhance the quality of care for which WCA Hospital is nationally recognized. It will meet the present day and the increasing future volume demands of our community. This new Emergency Department will minimize patient treatment times, decrease throughput/admission times, improve efficiency, improve collaboration, and enhance physician recruitment efforts.
With construction slated to begin in late 2010 or early 2011, WCA Hospital expects to gain valuable space and privacy, and overall improvement in patient experiences. The new Emergency Department is designed to support additional floors above as WCA positions itself to complete overall campus consolidation in the years to come.
To date, WCA has secured nearly $11.5 M toward the campaign’s $16.5 M capital goal for the construction of the new Emergency Department. The campaign is accepting gifts and pledges payable through 2013.
