Jamestown, NY (Thursday, March 3, 2016) – Cummins Engine employees are pleased to announce an Easter Toy Drive that will benefit WCA Hospital pediatric patients. Residents interested in donating toys can contact Megan D’Angelo, Director of Development at (716) 664-8423 or email For a list of appropriate donations, visit

WCA Director of Development, Megan D’Angelo, said “We were so elated when Matthew Davis, Cummins Engine third shift CLT had a vision to help our own community children to cope and adjust to illness and hospitalization with giving a gift to meet the developmental, psychosocial, emotional and educational needs of our patients.”

Matthew’s vision of helping WCA Hospital’s patients began when his son was hospitalized for a long period of time. He remembers the stuffed toy that was given to his son with suction cups on its hands so that it could hold onto the wheelchair that his son would be in for the next few months. Matthew said, “I remember the moment they gave it to him, he was so happy. He still has it in his room years later.”

Matthew thought of that moment when Cummins asked all of the employees to come up with a community minded project that all of the employees would stand behind. Lori Jafarjian, Cummins Engine HR Manager wasted no time contacting WCA Hospital to coordinate their efforts. “We are always looking for ways in which organizations and businesses support their community hospital,” stated D’Angelo. “When Lori approached me and told me Matthew’s story, I knew it was from the heart and he would make this happen.”

Cummins Engine Easter Toy Drive will benefit patients throughout the hospital in areas such as Emergency Room, Pediatric Floor, Adolescent Mental Health, Speech and Hearing, Radiology, Sleep Study, and ENT. The toy drive will begin March 1st and run through March 23rd. WCA Hospital has a drop off location in Administration Monday-Friday 8:30-4pm. If you are a Cummins Engine employee, there will be drop off locations within the plant. Please visit for donating guidelines and age appropriate, safety and infection prevention suggestions.
