Local Breast Cancer Survivor Throws Out Ceremonial First Pitch at Jammers Game July 9

Jamestown, New York (Friday, July 8, 2016)—Photo Release: Linda Edington, local breast cancer survivor and Jamestown Jammers patient ambassador, shown surrounded by the baseball team, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at this evening’s (Saturday, July 9) Jamestown Jammers PINK THE PARK vs. the Newark Pilots. The baseball players and coaches will honor breast cancer survivors on the field prior to game time at 7:05 p.m. and invite and encourage all area breast cancer survivors to join them on the baseball field prior to the start of the game for a special honorary tribute to their survivorship. In addition to decorating Russell R. Diethrick Jr. Park Stadium pink, the Jamestown Jammers and coaches will be donning pink shirts and invite fans to join them as they “pink the park” by wearing pink. WCA Hospital will host a special basket raffle and 50/50 that will benefit local breast cancer care. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.  First pitch at 7:05 p.m. General public admission is $5 at the door.
