WCA Offers Free Blood Pressure Screenings During Meet The Robot Event February 29

JAMESTOWN, NY (Friday, February 19, 2016)—Photo Release, Pictured from left, Toni DeAngelo, R.N., WCA Hospital Community Health and Wellness Director; and Bruce Gillen, R.N., will providefree blood pressure checks during the “MEET THE ROBOT” event hosted by WCA Hospital on Monday, February 29th; from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Fun and educational for all ages, residents are invited to attend the event to test-drive the ROBOT on the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System. Attendees will sit in the robot’s chair and peer into the device. Using hand and finger gestures, participants complete demonstrations on the video screen, much like a video game. Guests can watch replicated robotic surgeries performed using the robot. Meet the credentialed robotic surgeons on the medical staff of WCA Hospital and the surgery and anesthesiology teams. View all of the emerging and exciting surgical instruments used in real robotic surgeries. Listen to a live presentation by Timothy Brown, M.D., FACS, credentialed robotic surgeon, entitled “Robots In Surgery”. Other activities include, chair yoga by Carrie Harvey, Certified Yoga Instructor, donate blood at the Community Blood Bank bloodmobile drive. Guests may enter a raffle ($5 donation) to win a PGA Tour package experience and a chance to walk with the pros, compliments of the LECOM Health Challenge. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the WCA Hospital robotic surgery program. Participants will be treated to free refreshments, robot snacks, gift giveaways, take home education pamphlets, and much more. The first 200 guests receive a dancing boogie robot.
