Press Release Photo
Kimskids Daycare children recently made a visit to UPMC Chautauqua WCA to donate holiday outfits for newborns born during the holiday season at UPMC Chautauqua WCA. Dressed in the Santa outfit is baby boy, Koden West, born to proud parents Troy and Kymberly West.

Jamestown, NY (Friday, December 22, 2017)—The holiday season came early for newborns at UPMC Chautauqua WCA with the support from local daycare provider, Kimskids Daycare, who donated tiny holiday outfits for newborn babies.

“Christmas is already a magical time with family and friends, but add newborns to the festive season and you’re bound to have an even more magical holiday season,” said Linda Johnson, senior manager, regional communications at UPMC. “When we dress our newborns in holiday outfits, the merry season comes alive. We are thankful and grateful to Kimskids Daycare and all of our community partners who make special visits to the hospital during the holiday season.”

Daycare provider, Kim Hurley, said she wanted to do something special for the babies. “Our daycare’s tradition is to visit the local nursing homes and places of care to bring joy to those who need extra special cheer during Christmas,” said Kim who has coordinated many donations to various organizations over the years. “When I spotted the holiday-themed outfits online, my heart instantly melted. It reminded me of what the season is truly about. My oldest son was born in December and nothing brought more joy to our lives than bringing a newborn baby into our world during the holiday season. We could not resist the urge to bring that same joy to other new parents.”

Construction has begun on a multi-million dollar construction project to build a Women’s and Maternity Care Center and Inpatient Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Units above the UPMC Chautauqua WCA Emergency Department. The 18,000 square-foot modern expansion will include a state-of-the-art maternity care center equipped with four labor and delivery suites and 12 post-partum suites. With more than 650 deliveries per year, parents find the charm of a community full of friendly faces and it is not uncommon for patients to know the people who touch their care.  Many of the highly-skilled and talented physicians, nursing staff, and support staff members have been provided care at UPMC Chautauqua WCA for many years and are sincerely committed to providing an environment that exemplifies a superior patient experience.
