Professionals & Business Leaders Invited to Support WCA Emergency Department Campaign

WCA Hospital
Local business leaders James Smith and Hans Auer, along with campaign chair Dr. Lillian Vitanza Ney, are inviting area professionals and business leaders to join the “Committee of 500”, a dedicated group of 500 individuals financially committed to the success of the capital campaign for WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department.

Jamestown, New York (Monday, November 1, 2010)—WCA Hospital is in the midst of the largest, most critical capital campaign in its 125-year history to support the construction of a new Emergency Department. Under the leadership of campaign chair Dr. Lillian Vitanza Ney, to date, Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department has already realized over $12.5 M in gifts and pledges toward the $16.5 M capital campaign goal thanks to the generosity of foundations, businesses, and individuals.

Co-chairing the Professionals Committee of the Sharing the Gift of Health campaign are local professionals James Smith and Hans Auer. Smith and Auer are challenging local professionals and business leaders to come alongside them by joining the “Committee of 500” - a group of professionals and business leaders whose aim is to raise at least $250,000 for construction of the new, 21st-century Emergency Department.

“This is a unique moment in time when leaders from our community have the opportunity to come together in support of our community hospital,” said co-chair Jim Smith. “Together, we will transform the front door of healthcare in our community.”

“We need you, your support, and your help,” states co-chair Hans Auer. “The demonstration of leadership and financial support from this important segment of our community is invaluable.”

WCA Hospital’s new 18,000-square-foot Emergency Department will feature 28 private treatment rooms and two private triage rooms. Its 21st-century design will meet the present and future volume demands of the community, offering patients state-of-the-art care and treatment provided in a patient and family-friendly, technologically advanced, and aesthetically soothing environment. The new Emergency Department will minimize patient treatment times, decrease throughput/admission times, improve efficiency, and enhance collaboration.

“A strong and vibrant WCA Hospital is absolutely critical for our community,” explains Dr. Ney.  “Supporting the campaign for our new Emergency Department is vital to ensuring that WCA Hospital is equipped to meet the needs of our community for many years to come.”
