Bemus Point, New York (Thursday, June 3, 2010) -   In a joint press conference today, the Bemus Bay Pops and WCA Hospital unveiled “Barbra & Frank: The Concert That Never Was…” which will take place on the floating stage Friday, August 13th, 2010. This concert will be a sensational tribute to the “Voices of the 20th Century” with Sharon Owens as Barbra Streisand and Sebastian Anzaldo as Frank Sinatra. These Las Vegas entertainers will perform with The Bemus Bay Pops Orchestra under the direction of Bruce Morton Wright, followed by a spectacular fireworks show over Chautauqua Lake.

“This is going to be the event of the summer on Chautauqua Lake,” proclaims Dan Dalpra representing the Bemus Bay Pops. “Having experienced it myself, ’The Concert That Never Was…’ is an event like no other. Sharon and Sebastian will captivate our audience with their incredible talents, reminding us all of why we love Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra not only as singers, but performers.”

“We invite our community to join us as we commemorate 125 years of outstanding service and look forward to a bright future for our community hospital,” explains Betsy T. Wright, WCA President and CEO. “This concert is a great way to celebrate this historic occasion, be entertained, and raise awareness of the vital capital campaign for our 21st century Emergency Department.”

Sharing the Gift of Health is more than a slogan, it is what WCA Hospital has been doing in this community for the last 125 years, and will continue to do in the future,” states Lillian Vitanza Ney, MD, Campaign Chair. “This campaign will transform the front door of healthcare in our community as we construct our new Emergency Department. I invite everyone in this community to generously support WCA in this important campaign effort, and to join us on August 13th for this unique concert event.”

Barbra & Frank

It’s tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour. In the Las Vegas hit show at the Riviera, “Barbra and Frank,” the rapport of these two musical icons is immediately prevalent. “The Concert That Never Was…” includes segments in which Streisand and Sinatra create masterful duets of “Somewhere,” “Something Stupid” and “New York, New York.” A highlight of the show is a delicate blending of two of their signature songs as Sinatra croons verses from “It Was A Very Good Year” intertwined with Streisand’s memorable “The Way We Were.”

Today, Sharon and Sebastian captivate audiences worldwide with their originally self-produced Las Vegas show that brings laughter, tears and joy to their audience. Sebastian’s crooning sounds of Sinatra bring “memories” to an audience who remember the late great “ol’ blue eyes” himself. While the uncanny looks of Sharon brings out “The Funny Girl” herself, Barbra Streisand, the only way she knows how, her way.  Together, they bring audiences to their feet with music and memories that only two legendary icons can.

“The Concert That Never Was…” will raise funds for WCA’s capital campaign for its new Emergency Department. WCA is selling limited VIP Seating Tickets on the Italian Fisherman Deck which includes a gourmet dinner, open bar, and a special meet and greet with the performers, as well as Preferred Seating Tickets on the Italian Fisherman Dockwalk and Fish Tank which includes hors d’oeuvres and drinks. A portion of each ticket sale will considered a tax-deductible gift to support the capital campaign. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for the VIP and Preferred Seating guests, followed by dinner and hors d’oeuvres at 7:00 p.m., and the concert at 8:00 p.m.
