Jamestown, New York (Thursday, May, 21, 2010)—Each week in Chautauqua County, seventeen individuals are diagnosed with cancer and six individuals die from cancer. Established in 1991, LINKS Charity is committed to battling cancer and has raised nearly one million dollars to support WCA Hospital’s cancer care program. Through the support, generosity, passion, and commitment of LINKS Charity volunteers, proceeds have been utilized to advance the medical care and treatment of individuals diagnosed with cancer.

William E. Cotter, Falconer resident and retired professor of biological sciences at Jamestown Community College, has been a faithful supporter of LINKS. Utilizing Prismacolor colored pencils, he recently created two original pieces of art featured on the cover of custom LINKS Charity greeting cards. These greeting cards are now available to the public in the WCA Center for Imaging & Medical Arts for a suggested donation of $1 each, or $5 for a bundle of 6.

Falconer Printing & Design generously donated the printing of these greeting cards so that every dollar donated will go completely to LINKS Charity to support their three-year pledge to help WCA Hospital purchase Digital Mammography.

This Sunday, during WCA Hospital’s 125th Birthday Party (12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m.), The WCA Center for Imaging & Medical Arts will be conducting a Chinese Auction inside the hospital’s main entrance to raise additional funds for Digital Mammography. They will also have the LINKS greeting cards available.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible gift to support the campaign for Digital Mammography, please contact Karl Sisson, WCA Director of Development, at (716) 487-6874 or visit www.wcahospital.org.
