Jamestown, New York (Thursday, December 9, 2010)—Over their 125 year history, the WCA Hospital Family has developed many holiday traditions, coming together to provide assistance to those in need in the Jamestown area.

Each year, the employee team on the WCA Hospital 4D Surgical/Pediatric unit decorate a Christmas Tree stuffed with brand new and hand-made mittens, scarves, hats and sweaters.  The winter items are then donated to non-profit agencies to be distributed to area children. This year, the staff selected St. Susan as their donation Center.

“WCA is a big part of this community, with over 1,400 physicians, employees and volunteers,” said Linda Johnson, WCA Hospital Public Relations spokesperson.  “Our hospital family volunteers in many ways during the holiday season including ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, donating food to local food pantries, singing in choirs, donating blood or sending care packages to our troops deployed overseas.  The holidays are truly a wonderful time to give back to our community while sharing fellowship and friendship with each other.”
