Shults Auto Group Announces Major Campaign
Pledge for WCA Emergency Department

Jamestown, New York (Tuesday, December 21, 2010) – Today at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena, Shults Auto Group announced a $250,000 pledge to WCA Hospital for Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department.

 “This campaign pledge clearly illustrates to our community that Shults cares,” explained Tim Shults, Owner and President of Shults Auto Group. “We believe there is no more important community-wide initiative than the campaign for the construction of WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department. We are firmly committed to the future of our community and our community hospital”

“This pledge is a strong statement of support by Shults Auto Group for this vital capital campaign,” said Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO. “I am truly thankful to Tim, the Shults Family, and the entire Shults Auto Group for taking a leadership role in this comprehensive campaign effort. We look forward to the day we open the doors of our new Emergency Department and to sharing this special gift with our community.”

Chaired by Lillian Vitanza Ney, MD, the Sharing the Gift of Health campaigncontinues to make great strides. “We would not be where we are today without the dedication and support of a myriad of volunteers and donors,” states Dr. Ney. “We are very grateful for the support and contributions we have received so far. To date, thanks to the outstanding generosity of many foundations, individuals, organizations, and businesses like Shults Auto Group, we are pleased to announce that we have reached 80% of our capital campaign goal by securing over $13.3 M in gifts, grants, and pledges toward our $16.5 M goal.

Sponsored by Shults Auto Group, the “Shultsy Shootout” will take place between the second and third periods of all World Junior Hockey Championship games at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena starting Wednesday, December 22nd and continuing on Thursday. One lucky contestant will be drawn each game to participate in a puck shootout from center ice.  For each puck scored, WCA Hospital will receive a $100 gift toward their capital campaign.  If the contestant scores 16 out of 20 pucks in 20 seconds, that contestant and WCA will each receive $20,000.

Shults Auto Group also introduced its new slogan, “Shults Cares.” “We are committed to caring for those who care for our community,” said Mr. Shults. “This commitment begins with our pledge to the campaign for our new Emergency Department. Central to the outstanding healthcare provided right here in our community is WCA Hospital, so we believe it is imperative that we enthusiastically support their efforts.”

Slated to be under construction in early 2011, WCA Hospital’s new, 18,000 square-foot Emergency Department will feature 28 private treatment rooms and two private triage rooms, along with a large welcoming entrance. It will meet the present and future volume demands of the community, offering patients privacy and state-of-the-art care and treatment.
