WCA Speech & Hearing Relocates

Jamestown, New York (Friday, September 10, 2010)—The WCA Hospital Speech and Hearing Department, one of the region's leaders in speech, hearing, and swallowing services, has relocated their services to 31 Sherman Street (directly in back of  the WCA Hospital Emergency Department Parking Lot), Jamestown, New York. 

The office is open by appointment Monday through Friday (except holidays), from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  The program offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for hearing, speech, language and swallowing services for people of all ages.  A physician order is required. 

The new facility offers convenient front-door parking, handicap accessible Entrance and has handicap-accessibility throughout the “new” Speech and Hearing Suite.  Services at the new location include:  Audiology-Hearing evaluations including Hearing Aid Dispensing and hearing aid maintenance service; Speech-Language Pathology: diagnostic and treatment services for childhood speech and language disorders as well as for adult speech, language, cognitive disorders from strokes, head injuries or other neurological problems; Swallowing (Dysphagia) diagnostic services are provided to assess swallowing function and swallowing therapy is offered to those individuals who would benefit form the services to improve swallowing function.

The WCA Hospital Speech and Hearing Department has been providing a comprehensive, quality service in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of speech, language and hearing disorders for over 40 years. The dedicated team of professionals is patient-centered and family-focused to maximize the communicative potential to meet the needs of each individual. 
The Speech and Hearing program is staffed by Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists licensed by the State of New York and Certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. The Department is an approved New York State Department of Health Diagnostic and Treatment Center for patients with communicative disorders.
