Dramatic WCA Car Raffle Winner To Be Announced
This Sunday During Light the Lakes in Bemus Point

Raffle tickets will continue to be sold through the remainder of the week at various Jamestown-area outlets, including all Shults Auto Group locations, WCA Hospital, and the Italian Fisherman.

Jamestown, New York (Wednesday, August 31, 2011)—Excitement is building for this Sunday evening (September 4th) when WCA Hospital and Shults Auto Group announce the raffle winner for their 2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible or $30,000 in cash in dramatic fashion.

$10 raffle tickets will continue to be on sale through the remainder of the week in several area locations, including all Shults Auto Group dealerships, WCA Hospital, and the Italian Fisherman.  Sales will conclude this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. when the Boogie Wonder Band takes to the floating stage in Bemus Point, New York. WCA officials will then return to WCA Hospital to draw the single raffle winner.

At around 9:15 p.m., STARFLIGHT, Jamestown’s medical evacuation helicopter which is a partnership between WCA and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, will return to Bemus Point to drop the winning ticket within a waterproof container into the waters of Chautauqua Lake. The Chautauqua County Sherriff’s Department Navigation Unit will retrieve this from the water and deliver it to the floating stage where Betsy Wright, President & CEO of WCA Hospital, along with Tim & Betsy Shults, owners of Shults Auto Group, will announce the winner of the new car or cash.

In December 2010, Shults Auto Group announced its $250,000 multi-year pledge to WCA Hospital for Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department. In an effort to raise additional funds to support the campaign, Shults Auto Group came up with the raffle idea and has promoted the sale of tickets through its media outlets and at all of its dealerships.

“Our campaign pledge and this raffle clearly illustrate to our community that Shults cares,” explained Tim Shults, Owner and President of Shults Auto Group. “We believe there is no more important community-wide initiative than the campaign for the construction of WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department. Central to the outstanding healthcare provided right here in our community is WCA, so we believe it is imperative that we enthusiastically support their efforts.”

WCA Hospital’s 21st-century Emergency Department is now under full construction and expected to be open in 2012. With great advances in space and privacy, WCA Hospital’s new 18,000 square foot Emergency Department will dramatically improve the overall patient experience.

To date, WCA has reached the 85% mark by securing $14 M toward the $16.5 M capital campaign goal and is accepting gifts and pledges payable through 2013.
