Jamestown, New York (Friday, May 13, 2011)—Community Bank recently made a $25,000 pledge to WCA Hospital to support Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department.

“What could be more appropriate than for Community Bank to back our community hospital,” said Lisa Allenson, Assistant Vice President and District Manager for Community Bank.  “To have access to the highest quality of emergency care in our community is absolutely critical and is why we believe it is imperative for us to support WCA and this vital capital campaign.”

“Our mission is to provide friendly, personalized, high-quality financial services and products to the communities we serve,” said Roger Dickinson, Vice President of Commercial Banking for Community Bank. “This mission aligns with what WCA Hospital is also striving to accomplish through the construction and re-design of their incredible, new Emergency Department.”

“On behalf of the WCA Family, I am extremely grateful to Community Bank for their generosity,” said Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO. “We look forward to the opening of the new front door of healthcare in our community with the construction of our new Emergency Department.”

“Like Community Bank, the outpouring of support by so many businesses and individuals in our community is enabling us to fulfill a dream,” said Brenda Ireland, Vice Chair of the WCA Hospital Board of Directors and a member of the Sharing the Gift of Health Campaign Cabinet. “This pledge clearly demonstrates Community Bank’s firm commitment to the future of WCA Hospital and our community.”

WCA’s 21st Century Emergency Department
The deconstruction of the existing South Building, to make way for the new Emergency Department, has been completed and full project financing has been secured, enabling WCA Hospital to be under full construction this spring.

WCA Hospital’s 21st Century Emergency Department will minimize patient treatment times, decrease throughput and admission times, improve efficiency and collaboration, enhance physician recruitment efforts, and meet the present day and the increasing future emergency care demands of the Chautauqua Region. With great advances in space and privacy, WCA Hospital’s new 18,000 square foot Emergency Department will dramatically improve the overall patient experience.

To date, WCA has reached the 80% mark by securing over $13.3 M toward the campaign’s $16.5 M capital campaign goal and is accepting gifts and pledges payable through 2013.
