Kevin Brombacher, Vice President of M&T Bank, presents Betsy Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO with an $80,000 check representing a grant from the M&T Charitable Foundation to support WCA’s capital campaign for its new Emergency Department.

Jamestown, New York (Friday, January 14, 2011) – The M&T Charitable Foundation recently awarded an $80,000 grant to WCA Hospital to support Sharing the Gift of Health:  The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department.

“M&T Bank has always been a strong supporter of the communities we bank in,” explained Kevin Brombacher, Vice President of M&T Bank.  “As a community bank, we also recognize the importance of quality healthcare in our communities.  For these reasons, it was easy for us to make this grant to support this critical campaign which will dramatically benefit our community and WCA Hospital, our community hospital.”

“We are extremely grateful to M&T Bank for their generosity and for the vision they have for our community,” said Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO.  “M&T Bank has clearly demonstrated their commitment to this vital campaign for our new Emergency Department which will transform the front door of healthcare in our community.”

WCA’s 21st Century Emergency Department

Featuring private treatment triage rooms, WCA’s new 18,000 square foot Emergency Department will maintain and enhance the quality of care of which WCA Hospital is nationally recognized.  It will meet the present day and the increasing future volume demands of the Chautauqua Region.

This 21st Century Emergency Department will minimize patient treatment times, decrease throughput and admission times, improve efficiency and collaboration, and enhance physician recruitment efforts.  With construction slated to begin in early 2011, WCA Hospital expects to gain valuable space and privacy, and overall improvement in patient experiences.

To date, WCA has secured over $13.3 M toward the campaign’s $16.5 M capital campaign goal and is accepting gifts and pledges payable through 2013.  Fore more information, please visit www.wcahospital.org.
