Jamestown, New York (Wednesday, March 2, 2011)—Tanglewood Manor recently made a $50,000 pledge to WCA Hospital to support Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department.

“As a local healthcare provider, we recognize the central role that WCA Hospital’s Emergency Department plays in the health and well being of our community,” said Nicholas Ferreri, Owner of Tanglewood Manor. “We believe it is absolutely imperative that we invest in this critical initiative and look forward to the positive impact this new Emergency Department will have on our patients, our employees, and our entire community.”

“It is exciting to see the great progress that has been made with this vital campaign and look forward to the future of healthcare in our community,” said Terri Ingersoll, Chief Operating Officer of Tanglewood Manor. “We value the partnership we have with WCA in the quality and compassionate care of those we are so privileged to serve.”

“On behalf of WCA and all those who are leading and supporting our capital campaign, I am extremely grateful to Mr. Ferreri and Tanglewood Manor for this wonderful gift,” said Lillian Vitanza Ney, MD, Sharing the Gift of Health Campaign Chair. “This pledge clearly demonstrates Tanglewood Manor’s firm commitment to the future of healthcare in our community.”

The Tanglewood Community
The Tanglewood Community offers a wide variety of supportive services including Tanglewood Manor, licensed to provide Assisted Living; Comfort Today Adult Day Care Services; Cottages on the Pond, built for Independent Living; and Memory Garden, providing specialized Alzheimer’s Care. Tanglewood’s capital campaign gift is being made in memory of Louis Ferreri who founded Tanglewood Manor in 1984, and who was later joined in the business by his son, Nicholas. The Ferreri family experienced first hand the impact of Alzheimer’s disease when the senior Ferreri was diagnosed with the disease in his later years. It was a result of the family’s personal struggles and frustrations to find an appropriate alternative to Skilled Nursing Care for their Father, that Memory Garden was conceptualized. Now, a leader in Alzheimer’s Care, Memory Garden offers an activity based program that allows residents to live fulfilling, independent lives in a comfortable home-like setting.

For over twenty years, Tanglewood Manor has continued the traditional values inspired by Louis Ferreri: respect for one another, concern for each resident's well-being, encouragement of individual interests, and enjoyment of life's pleasures. These values are a gift Tanglewood staff members share every day with residents and each other.
