Souper Bowl Sunday to Benefit WCA:
Charity Event to Feature Homemade Soups from Local Restaurants

Souper Bowl Sunday will feature homemade soups from several local restaurants/caterers and those attending will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite.

Jamestown, New York (Thursday, January 26, 2012)—This Sunday (January 29th) the Celoron Legion (26 Jackson Avenue in Celoron) and the Media One Group will host the inaugural Souper Bowl Sunday featuring homemade soups created and served by several local restaurants/caterers.

“All of the proceeds from this year’s Souper Bowl Sunday will benefit WCA Hospital by supporting Sharing the Gift of Health: The Capital Campaign for Our Emergency Department.

“There’s nothing more important than being able to get the best emergency care possible and events like this will show once again how much our community cares,” says Jim Yezzi, FM General Sales Manager for the Media One Group. “Our radio stations are honored to be a part of such a great cause.”

“Once again, our community is proving their firm commitment to our community hospital,” says Brenda Ireland, Chair of the WCA Hospital Board of Directors. “We are so thankful to so many people who are sharing of their time, talent, and finances to support this vital capital campaign. This is going to be a great event!”

Several area restaurants/caterers are donating their time and talents to create homemade soups which will be sampled on by all those attending who will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. Participants include House of Petillo, Cibo’s, Moon Brook Country Club, Ashville General Store, Game Time Sports Bar & Grill, Celoron Legion, Phil-N-Cindy’s Lunch, Sandy’s White Horse Inn, Lakewood/Celoron Moose Club, The Pauper, Guppy’s, Fisher’s Family Restaurant, Fox Mart, Tim Hortons Café & Bake Shop, and Elegant Edibles

In addition to the soups, Souper Bowl Sunday will feature live music from DJ’s Unlimited and an outstanding benefit auction featuring items donated by local businesses, including a 32” HDTV from DFT Technology Plus and a Weber grill from Everydays True Value. Additional event sponsors include J. Edwards Insurance, Allied Alarm Services, Jamestown Mattress, and Hollyloft Ski & Bike Shop.

Pre-sale tickets ($10 for adults and $5 for children under 12) are available at the Celoron Legion (716-664-0915) or the WCA Office of Development at (716-664-8423). Tickets will also be available at the door ($12 for adults and $6 for children under 12). For the first 300 people through the door, included in the price of each ticket is a commemorative soup mug courtesy of event sponsor Kia of Jamestown.
