Since 1927, May has been designated Better Speech and Hearing Month, at time to raise public awareness of speech and language disorders that affect millions of Americans. “Periodic hearing testing and speech evaluations if indicated should be a part of everyone’s health program,” said Robert Piede, MA, CCC-A, WCA Hospital Director of Speech and Hearing. “Our screenings are an effective way to identify communication problems and offer advice on the next steps to improve speech or hearing disorders.”

The Speech and Hearing Department at WCA is staffed by Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists licensed by the State of New York and Certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. The Department is an approved New York State Department of Health Diagnostic and Treatment Center for patients with communication disorders.
