Community Invited to Meet 4 Doctors at WCA Orthopedic Open House, April 21

Jamestown, New York (Wednesday, April 10, 2013)—Community residents attending the WCA Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation OPEN HOUSE are invited to meet and chat with physicians William Fritz, M.D., Peter Robinson, M.D., Michael Mitchell, M.D., and Brooke Kelly, D.O. P.C., on Sunday, April 21, 2013, from Noon to 3:00 p.m. The open house will be held at the new Center located directly behind WCA Hospital, 31 Sherman Street Building, Jamestown.  Follow the Open House signs. 

Guests can tour the medical practices on the 2nd Floor of the Complex and meet the office staff of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, William Fritz, M.D., and Peter Robinson, M.D.  Michael Mitchell, M.D., fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician and medical director of the WCA Sports Medicine Program, will discuss and answer questions on sports injuries. Brooke Kelly, D.O., P.C., board-certified physiatrist and medical director of the WCA Medical Rehabilitation Program will also be on hand to discuss the top-rated inpatient program and answer questions.

Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO, said.  “Our open house gives our community a chance to tour our beautiful new Center and meet our outstanding and specialized team of physicians and staff who provide a full service of orthopedic and rehabilitation needs for the whole family.”

Dr. William Fritz received his medical degree from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York and completed an orthopedic residency and fellowship in microvascular surgery/plastic surgery from the University of Pittsburgh. A highly-skilled surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in orthopedic medicine, Dr. Fritz provides the highest standard of orthopedic care in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. His medical practice is located at the Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, 2nd, Floor.

Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Peter Robinson, received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical School and completed an orthopedic residency from Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Hospital For Special Surgery.  An expert orthopedic surgeon with over 35 years serving the orthopedic care needs of the community, Dr. Robinson is a physician-member of Jamestown Area Medical Associates, located at 15 South Main Street, Jamestown.  His medical practice is located at the WCA Center on the 2nd Floor. 

Michael Mitchell, M.D. is Medical Director of the WCA Hospital Sports Medicine Program at the Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation.  He received his medical degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Mitchell completed his residency program at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  He has served as team physician for the Jamestown Jammers, Jamestown Community College, Mentor High School and assistant team physician at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. 

Board-certified physiatrist, Dr. Brooke Kelly is responsible for the medical oversight and coordination of care for patients on the medical rehabilitation unit at WCA Hospital and is the only physician in the region who is trained in rehabilitation medicine. Dr. Kelly is a native of Lakewood and returned to the area following graduation from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and her residency with NYU (New York University).

In addition to meeting the physicians, guests can take a self-guided tour through the new Orthopedic Complex during the open house.  Attendees are invited to sign-up for free speech, hearing and swallowing screenings and register for a free foot bone density screening (individuals are encouraged to register for foot bone density screening by calling WCA Hospital Wellness at 664-8677 before the event).  Additional wellness activities offered during the open house include free blood pressure checks, carpal tunnel testing, grip strengthening demonstrations, fall risk assessments, and bone strengthening exercise demonstrations.  Kids and family members alike can play Wii-HAB!

Visitors will have a chance to enter a raffle to win a 32” HD LCD Flat Screen Television.  Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the WCA Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation.  The first 500 guests will receive a free monogrammed tote bag.

The WCA Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation brings together one team for a wide range of treatments and rehabilitation including orthopedic care, 24/7 emergency orthopedic care, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and hearing services.  The Center boasts a new spacious and beautifully decorated waiting room, new PT/OT gym, state-of-the-art sound room for hearing tests, and a centralized registration and reception area—all handicapped accessible with front-door parking for patients.
