WCA Hospital

Jamestown, New York (Saturday, March 9, 2013)—During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this past October, WCA Hospital and LINKS Charity invited the Jamestown community to join them for the filming of The Pink Glove Dance. Their goal was not only to raise awareness for the local fight against breast cancer, but also celebrate the courage of those who have battled breast cancer.

The Pink Glove Dance was a video competition sponsored by Medline Industries, Inc., manufacturer of the pink gloves and producer of the original Pink Glove Dance video. Representing Medline, Debbie Sellari, Account Executive, recently presented employees at WCA Hospital with a framed poster which will be hung in the WCA Center for Imaging & Medical Arts to thank them for their outstanding performance.

WCA Hospital’s and LINKS Charity’s original video featured Katy Perry's hit single “Part of Me”, focused on six local breast cancer survivors, and the finale was filmed at Strider Field along with the Jamestown High School Marching Band. This video can still be viewed on YouTube by searching “WCA Hospital Pink Glove Dance.”

Medline served as a Presenting Sponsor of the 2nd annual “LINKS Pink Walk: A Celebration of Courage” this past October at the Chautauqua Mall. This special event also celebrated the courage of those who have battled breast cancer and included the premier of The Pink Glove Dance video on a large screen. This year’s LINKS Pink Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, once again at the Chautauqua Mall and will once again raise funds to support local breast cancer care at WCA Hospital.
