Jamestown, New York (Monday, April 6, 2015)—On  March 22nd, event organizers 106.9 Kiss FM, 95.3 The Lake FM, Mia Bella Salon and WCA Hospital successfully hosted the 6th annual got pink? event at Shawbucks Pressroom Restaurant in downtown Jamestown. This charity event raised $7,000 to benefit WCA Hospital to aid in the local fight against breast cancer.

In addition to the event organizers, Title Sponsors for got pink? included Arthur R. Gren Co, Inc, Designer Pools, Shawbuck’s Press Room, Frewsburg Pharmacy, Carlson’s Jewelry Smithing, Z&M Ag and Turf, 59 Lucy Lane, Trinity Guitars, and South Hills C.C.

“The commitment of the community coming together to support local cancer care was unbelievable,” says Megan D’Angelo WCA Director of Development, “I want to thank all our sponsors, auction bidders, and generous donors who are helping to ensure we enhance breast cancer care here in our community.”

got pink? has now raised over $54,000 to WCA Hospital since the inaugural event 6 years ago. These gifts have been utilized to help WCA Hospital purchase new breast cancer detection equipment for the WCA Center for Imaging & Medical Arts. This year the proceeds will benefit the Hologistic Static Upright Chair.

This year’s got pink? featured a live, silent auction and a basket raffle; salon services from Mia Bella Salon, the sale of t-shirts and hats from Jamestown Cycle Shop; “Buy a Mug” pricing and pink drinks from Arthur R. Gren Company; and music from DJ Fish and Derek Davis.

“We are so grateful for dedicated partners who stand beside us to help us educate our community and treat breast cancer with advanced technology,” said Brian Meagher, M.D., WCA Hospital Radiologist. “On behalf of the patients we serve, I want to thank you for helping us to detect and diagnose breast cancer in its earliest stages.”

The Center For Imaging & Medical Arts at WCA, the only Center in Chautauqua County to be designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, provides SAME DAY MAMMOGRAM results and has expanded its health and wellness program with the addition of a certified breast patient navigator who is specially trained to coordinate the clinical, educational and supportive needs of individuals who are scheduled for breast health testing at the Center For Imaging. Other services include breast and general ultrasound, interventional radiology, PET/CT Imaging, MRI imaging, bone densitometry (DEXA) screening, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and outpatient laboratory.
